popular. Peridot is the birthstone of August and is known to have the ability
to dispel terrors of the night and ward off evil spirits. In my opinion just
the looks of Peridot are enough for a person to buy it. Peridot gems come out
very nice when set in gold.
There are many localities where rough Peridot is mined from,
for example, Pakistan, Burma, China, USA, Tanzania and Sri Lanka. Peridot from
Pakistan is probably the best in the world because it has pure green color
without yellow tone and bigger than 1 carat cut faceted stones are found with
minimum natural inclusions. Bigger than 2ct loose Peridot clean gems are hard to
find nowadays. Big enough specimens of Peridot are also rare and usually
expensive.
